The meme now is that the Internet (Facebook especially) CAUSES acts such as murder.
As a result of this frame, new regulations and calls for crackdowns will occur on private social networking sites, leading to the great “mapping” of the Internet that will prove useful only to the powerful entities that seek to control it.
However, Facebook is only the latest medium to be introduced which presents a new platform for certain people to connect and meet and, regrettably, commit heinous acts.
Does that mean that Facebook must be controlled or regulated?
Should the same be done for shows that promote violence and movies that advocate illegal and risky behavior?
Where is this line and where can the Government place it?
