The Liberty Hero of the week is a certain “young Asian man” (as quoted by AP) who disguised himself as an elderly white man on a flight from Hong Kong to Vancouver.
What is coming over the wire is that his only crime was dressing up as a white man and using another’s boarding pass to get on the plane.
Man uses elaborate disguise to get into Canada
A young Asian man who boarded an AirCanada flight in Hong Kong elaborately disguised as an elderly white male is seeking refugee status in Canada in what border officials are calling an “unbelievable case of concealment.”
An internal intelligence alert from the Canadian Border Service shows before-and-after photos, and describes how the man boarded the flight in Hong Kong on Oct. 29 wearing a remarkable silicone mask to make him look like an elderly man.
A Canadian government official gave the alert to The Associated Press. The official provided the document Friday on condition of anonymity as the official was not authorized to release it publicly.
The passenger was seen at the start of the flight as an “elderly Caucasian male who appeared to have young looking hands,” the CBSA bulletin said. Later in the flight, however, “the subject attended the washroom and emerged an Asian looking male that appeared to be in his early 20s.”
The document says the man had a bag that contained a “disguise kit which consisted of a silicone type head and neck mask of an elderly Caucasian male, a brown leather cap, glasses and a thin brown cardigan.”
To be clear, I fully support his man. I support this man using some creative disguise kit to throw the billion-dollar-fake-airport-security-complex out of whack and freak them out.
Events like these can illuminate the idiotic state of affairs where airplane travel is concerned. Events like these can make clear the arbitrary nature of the de-humanization that occurs in airports across the world today for the illusion of security.
Coupled with the massive opt-out movement, I call for all people to board planes with masks and disguises and whatever else they creatively believe will erase the false authority of airplane-security agents, who only wish to take our liberties away.
They got guns, but we got jokes.
